The spread of Hellenistic

Hellenistic culture: Koine, the popular spoken language used in Hellenistic cities, was the direct result of cultural blending Alexandria: became the foremost center of commerce and of the Nile delta Before taking notes we watched a presentation and then ate some really good cookies

Alexander the Great

When alexander was only eight years old, he tamed a wild horse that none of his father's grooms could manage. Alexander calmed the horse by speaking gently. Seeing this control, his father told him that this empire was to small for him and that he needed to go look for bigger things. At age 20, Alexander started conquering land along southwest Asia. He defeated the Persian empire, conquered some of Egypt, Persia and Macedonia. When his father died, Alexander became king. He died at age 32, and his generals began a power struggle. Egypt was controlled by Ptolemy, Persia was controlled by Selecuse and Macedonia was controlled by Antigonous I.

presentations pt 2

Today my group presented, I think we did a good job so I hope we get a really good grade, we worked really hard. After our presentation we talked about Mr. Schick's tv production history, he told us about all of the movies he produced and it was actually really cool!

presentations

Today a couple of groups presented their ancient greek projects. One group did a cooking show and handed out really good food, then someone did a model of a cool ship, and the last did a cool trident. It was interesting to see everyone's projects. I'm really exited to perform tomorrow, I hope we do good

group project

Today in class we just kept working on our group project. Here are some awesome numbers, one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fifteen sixteen seventeen eighteen nineteen twenty twenty-one and many more!!!!!!

Group project Discussion

I was actually kinda upset Mr.Schick had to take down the mass shooting paper because I think it's very important to be informed about this stuff. It is probably one of the only useful things we actually talked about in school and now we can't even talk about it anymore. After this, we just got into our groups and discussed our group project and what we were doing. Oh and also, owen brought in fudge covered oreos and they were soooo goooooddd.

Cave story

In class, we started off taking about shootings and we read one of off the paper. I feel like it’s important for us to read these so we know what actually goes on in our own country. Then, we talked about Draco’s cave book, and it was really interesting. It made me realize how some people are very ignorant and don’t want to view the world in other ways. These topics are very interesting and I really enjoy this class and the things we talk about!

Logic

In class today someone said something about people seeing different colors and calling them the same thing, I didn't really understand but it sounded like color blindness issues to me.  Logic is about reasoning, giving strong arguments that don't fall victim to fallacies 1. try to understand critical evaluation This is a very interesting topic and I feel like it is important to understand what other people's views are and how the interpret the world before you judge them.
